Lerga is immersed in Navarrese history, with Javier Castle, the Monastery of Leyre, the Roman city of Santa Criz de Eslava and the town of Gallipienzo to the east and the medieval cities of Olite and Ujué to the south.
Among vines and century-old olive trees, you can enjoy the wine, the landscape, and the Roman and medieval ruins. The winery’s owners will show you the winemaking process and share their passion for the vineyard and wine.
In Lerga you can visit the pre-Romanesque settlement of Abaiz and visit the chapel of Santa Bárbara where a Hispano-Roman funerary stela was discovered, inscribed with words that are believed to be in the Basque language.
If you have children with you, they will love the animals carved out of tree stumps by Angel Illera and the restored mill in El Olleta that will turn your visit into an adventure.
